“I have known Annmarie SanSevero from her work with Superstars Writing Seminars, and also from her submissions to Writers of the Future, where she consistently places in the upper tier of results. I have also critiqued some of her stories, and so I trusted her enough as a writer that I hired her as a development editor for “Maxwell’s Demons,” a new science fiction mystery novella in my Blue Collar Space universe.

She performed above my expectations, taking care to document and reinforce the voice and mannerisms of seven different protagonists. She also tracked and followed the clues to make sure that they added up to a solution, and she documented my jargon and pointed out where it might be unclear to new readers. She provided me with detailed editing notes, and she discussed the points with me.

*I had the privlege of editing Jonathan’s upcoming story for Into the Deep, Dark Woods. I will admit to being intimidated a bit, not because of anything Jonathan did. It was my first time editing in the horror genre, and he’s Jonathan Maberry, one of the best horror/thriller writers there is.  I put some work in ahead of time by attending some horror genre workshops to make sure I understood the trope before diving in. 

I turned it in tremulously. Jonathan gave a one sentence reply that allowed me to breathe again:

“Good edit notes!”
